Why Blog?

Wow, I really never thought that I would be in the position to write a blog.  Who would want to hear about my life?  It's hit me one day when I was looking for information regarding updating the Victorian farmhouse we are in the process of purchasing that what I am doing might actually be able to help other people.  So here I am writing while my baby sleeps and my toddler is playing.

My hopes in the blog is for you to glean some knowledge of DIY home improvement. Maybe learn from our mistakes. Take away some happy thoughts and enjoy this great project that we are about to embark on.

Our family is a mixed family.  My husband of four years has three wonderful children from his previous marriage.  We have two boys together.  We live in a small town in Wyoming where we live in a small house. We don't have the three older children all the time. However, as we add to our family it is becoming ever apparent that we need more space.

So we went on a great house hunt! It has been fun and overwhelming looking for a bigger house.  There was a problem or two with every house we looked at.  Most were just simply too far out of our price range. The ones within our price range were still too small.  So we kept looking.  We finally found one within our range that I fell in love with as soon as I walked in.  Its an old Victorian built in 1885.  It was never quite as elaborate as the some of the Victorian built houses but it had plenty of old character left that I instantly fell in love with the idea of fixing it up to be my dream house. 

So here we are. I am planning a million and a half ideas to do with this house and we haven't even closed on it!  It's exciting, and scary at the same time.  What a journey this will be.  So hold on to your hat and come a long for the ride.  Here we go!
